I biked all the way in to work today to put in some extra hours. I figured I’d finish up the ca-fr translation for Evergreen so that my boss can submit it to Dan Scott first thing tomorrow morning after looking it over.
Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that my building gets locked down every weekend. I was told by the security guard in the building across the street that I would need “special permission” to get access to it if I wanted to work more than my allotted 5 days/week. Welcome to the federal government.
In the end, I went home and spent part of the afternoon fighting with the Evergreen installation on my laptop. I’m running Ubuntu 8.04 and the installation instructions on the website only cover Ubuntu 7.10 or Debian etch (a distro release that’s nearly 2 years old from a project that’s always on the trailing edge when it comes to including recent versions of software packages). Something desperately needs to be done about this installation process.
